Parks Canada is looking for the ideal candidate to fill the position of Project Coordinator for the Jasper Field Unit. This position will assist project managers and leaders with elements of construction projects and provide project support for built asset projects in Jasper National Park due to the Jasper Wildfire Complex.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

1. Assisting in development of project requirements, scope, budget, and schedule
2. Coordinating contractors and consultants at various phases of a project and managing the associated call-ups and contracts
3. Construction inspection
4. Assisting in the development of consultant call-ups and scopes of work for contractors related to projects
5. Review of tender documents and specifications
6. Review of consultant and contractor deliverables
7. Working and engaging with Parks Canada Project Leads, Project Managers, and stakeholders for various projects
8. Coordinating internal and external stakeholder meetings
9. Facilitating the work of project managers, project leaders, design consultants and contractors
10. Providing status updates on projects, as required
11. Supporting reporting activities on projects, as required
12. Aiding in progress billing process for consultants and contractors
13. Preparing estimates and supporting documents required to assist the Project Leads and Project Managers to prepare Request for Project Approval documents and related project updates

Minimum Requirements:

EDUCATION: Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a diploma/degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction management or other engineering specialties related to the position or have an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Significant experience in coordinating work on construction sites
2. Significant experience in managing external contractors and ensuring the quality of work
3. Familiarity with project management activities
4. Familiarity with Engineering or Architectural design
5. Experience working in an environment requiring collaboration between various stakeholders

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. You are required to obtain and maintain a Reliability Status security clearance
2. You are required to possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s licence
3. You must be willing to work overtime
4. You will be required to work shift-work, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays
5. You must be willing and able to wear required safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Important Note: The work location is Jasper, Alberta. Remote work is not possible for this position.
