Job description

Title: Intermediate Project Coordinator
Location: Calgary, AB

We are an established, dynamic, and growing underground utilities and surface works contractor in search of an individual to fulfill the role of Intermediate Project Coordinator in our expanding Project Management Division.

The Intermediate Project Coordinator is an integral member of the project team responsible for delivering various projects safely, on schedule, and on budget. Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Intermediate Project Coordinator is responsible for multiple aspects of the project cycle, including set-ups, quantity verification, organizing, and controlling project activities.

The duties of the job include, but are not limited to:

  • Attend client meetings and assist with the determination of project requirements

  • Prepare project preparation and closeout documents; communicate project directives to the operations team

  • Attend site meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members

  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades

  • Prepare project schedules in line with budgets and client expectations

  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team

  • Ensure client needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner

  • Review field inspection reports from consultants throughout the lifecycle of the project

  • Assist the Project Manager in reviewing contractor quotations to ensure only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended

  • Track and manage contemplated change notices and change orders

  • Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close-out documents are obtained

  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes

  • Keep the Project Manager and others informed about project status and any issues that may impact client relations

Qualifications:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Project/Construction Management, or relevant Trade & Field Experience is an asset
  • 2-3 years of experience supporting Project Managers

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam, Explorer/Eclipse, and B2W software is an asset

  • Knowledge of City of Calgary specifications and civil contracting practices is an asset

  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team

  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

  • Civil Construction: 1 year (preferred)

  • Project Coordination: 3 years (required)
