Project Coordinator, Highway Maintenance (Grande Prairie)

Description

Ledcor is hiring a Project Coordinator to support our Highway Maintenance team in Grande Prairie. This hands-on, site-level role is ideal for those seeking to build a career in construction supervision and operations management.

As a Project Coordinator, you’ll work under the guidance of experienced supervisors and contribute to the successful delivery of highway maintenance and construction projects. You’ll gain exposure to all aspects of operations, including quality control, estimating, contract administration, crew management, equipment operations, and more.

This role is designed as a stepping stone toward becoming a front-line supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Understand office processes: subcontract management; change orders; RFIs (request for information); estimates & purchase orders
2. Learn technical and operational aspects of highway maintenance
3. Support safe and efficient work practices; promote a positive safety culture
4. Conduct quality inspections, audits, and materials testing
5. Analyze operational data (e.g., storm response, patrols, drainage, vegetation)
6. Build relationships, influence key stakeholders, and participate proactively in discussions
7. Manage quality documentation, procurement tasks, and project reporting

Qualifications

1. 3+ years of related experience in project coordination, management, or a combination of education and field exposure
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented and proactive
3. Familiarity with construction documentation, RFIs, subcontracts, and purchase orders
4. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and scheduling tools
5. Flexibility to travel to other locations within Alberta
6. Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
7. Valid driver’s license with a clear 3-year abstract

Work Conditions

1. Monday to Friday schedule
2. Travel required (up to 20%) to other shop locations within Alberta
