Project Coordinator - Empowering Connections, Seniors & Technology

Founded in 1918, CNIB is one of Canada's oldest charities, committed to creating accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities where people with low vision can thrive. We are seeking a passionate Project Coordinator for our Empowering Connections, Seniors & Technology initiative.

Position Details:

  • Part Time, Contract (flexible hours)
  • Location: Lower Mainland (Vancouver, North Shore, Tri-Cities, Surrey/Delta, Richmond)
  • Compensation: $19/hr - $25/hr
  • Reports to: Team Lead, Technology & Next Generation
  • Direct Reports: None

Your Role:

  • Lead and manage all project phases according to the timeline
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding of 10 Senior Tech Mate volunteers
  • Develop training plans in collaboration with volunteers
  • Schedule and oversee training sessions at senior residences
  • Ensure resources are accessible in various languages and formats
  • Track progress, collect data, and prepare final reports
  • Liaise with CNIB staff and community partners

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years in program coordination or community engagement
  • Experience working with seniors, newcomers, or visually impaired individuals preferred
  • Multilingual abilities are an asset
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with data collection, reporting, and evaluation

Eligibility:

This position is funded through the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP). To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be 55+ years old at the start of employment
  • Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or refugees in Canada
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada

Work Environment: Ability to work onsite at Westminster, BC occasionally.
