Job Description

Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, you will coordinate the design and construction of the East Harbour Transit Hub project, in GO Expansion Project Delivery, in a safe, timely, consistent and cost-effective manner.

415 Eastern Avenue (Project site) and 130 Adelaide Street / 10 Bay street (Office site)

What will I be doing?
  1. Collaborate effectively within the East Harbour Transit Hub Alliance team, fostering alignment across partners and ensuring coordinated delivery of project milestones.
  2. Support schedule, risk, and finance teams by tracking key deliverables, monitoring progress, and facilitating timely decision-making.
  3. Liaise closely with the Owner’s Representative team and Metrolinx Sponsors Office to support project governance, approvals, and issue resolution.
  4. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including the City of Toronto, utility providers, and community partners to align infrastructure planning and delivery.
  5. Ensure compliance with Metrolinx’s standards, procedures, and project delivery requirements across all coordination activities.
  6. Organize project meetings by scheduling sessions, preparing agendas, and recording and distributing accurate meeting minutes.
  7. Transmit project correspondence, design submissions, and Owner’s directions through the Aconex system, maintaining accurate and timely project records.
  8. Support proactive issue tracking and resolution by maintaining stakeholder action logs, managing communications, and supporting timely follow-up.
  9. Assist in preparing project reports, presentations, and briefing materials for internal and external audiences to support informed decision-making and transparency.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  1. A college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience providing a thorough knowledge of the theories and practices of engineering/architecture.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of transit facilities or railway infrastructure projects, including interpreting and applying contract plans and specifications, and coordinating engineering or architectural deliverables within contracted projects.
  3. Knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of civil engineering and architecture.
  4. Detailed knowledge of project management including cost control, scheduling, codes, standards, specifications, corporate procedures and applicable contract legislation.
  5. Understanding of Railway Rules and Regulations and Safety & Operating procedures.
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and think analytically.
  7. Proficiency in the use of project management software and computer applications is essential.
  8. Have a valid Ontario “G” Driver’s Licence for site visits.
  9. Regular site visits are required during working hours and occasional visits during evenings and/or weekends.
