Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Construction & Maintenance Department (C&M), the Coordinator position will provide expertise and support to effectively administer and evolve existing construction and maintenance programs and processes required to support the business needs and goals, while meeting or exceeding established departmental and divisional service levels with the ultimate goal of completing projects and performing program efforts on schedule, within budget and with deliverables of a high quality.
As a member of the C&M Department and as a member of the broader organizational team, the position is instrumental in the delivery of continuous improvement efforts and a high degree of inter-organizational collaboration towards achieving and maintaining organizational customer service excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance:
- Administer, support and assist the ongoing development and evolvement of existing maintenance programs to include: Facilities – retail, hotel, residential (Winnipeg and Arctic community Co-op / subsidiary locations); Vehicles (community Co-op / subsidiary locations)
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment
- Assist overseeing vendor services to ensure facilities management needs are being met
- Co-ordinate the vendor/supplier procurement process
- Co-ordinate vendor resources required to achieve stated objectives with a high degree of efficiency
- Ensure delivery schedules, quantity, and quality criteria are met
- Assist in cultivating and strengthening contractor and vendor relationships
- Support and implement cost reduction initiatives
- Review and analyze support call history trends towards further evolving proactive management and preventative measures
- Assist with the co-ordination of contractor resources required to achieve stated objectives with a high degree of efficiency
- Co-ordinate the vendor/supplier procurement process
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and tracking efforts
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and tools for project execution and management
- Ensure delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met
Departmental Activities:
- Assist with the co-ordination of day-to-day and escalation activities for the department
- Manage all facility maintenance requests via the ConnectWise software
- Provide customer service excellence for a customer base consisting of internal and external stakeholder groups
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Construction, Refrigeration, Mechanical and Electrical systems
- Solid understanding of estimating, scheduling and project management processes
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- Working knowledge and experience with procurement processes
- Proven experience coordinating contractors with multifaceted projects
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety, Government and Environmental regulations/standards and licensing/inspections required within a construction environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
- Working knowledge of ConnectWise software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management, organizational, planning and administrative skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Proven ability to work in a cross-cultural setting, and values diversity and collaboration

- Ability to travel as required (Minimal travel, could include to Arctic communities)

- Additional qualifications that would be considered a strong asset include:
- Understanding of northern logistics
- Ability to read construction blueprints
- Working knowledge of Procore
