Major Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Project Manager of Toronto Elections, the Project Coordinator of Communications provides research, development and implementation support to deliver digital and traditional marketing and communications for all municipal election-related programs and projects.
Key Qualifications:
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
1. Post-secondary education in a related discipline (communications, marketing, public relations, journalism) or a combination of education, experience and transferrable skills.
2. Considerable experience working collaboratively in a diverse team environment, and implementing multiple large projects from inception to completion, employing excellent organization and project coordination skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
3. Demonstrated experience with all social media platforms, tracking and analyzing engagement, developing content schedules, and AODA-compliant content creation for web and social media.
4. Considerable experience supporting and executing complex marketing plans and developing various communications materials including advertising and promotional campaigns and videos.
5. Demonstrated experience supporting communications strategies that effectively engage diverse internal and external audiences in ways that are accessible and inclusive.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneDrive). Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (including Photoshop, InDesign and illustrator) is considered an asset.
7. Experience working calmly and effectively in a high-volume, high-stress environment with frequent and competing deadlines.
8. Superior communication skills with excellent writing and editing skills for all communications channels and audiences including external and internal audiences.
9. Well-developed interpersonal skills, and ability to deal effectively with media, political staff, diverse community groups, internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
10. Working knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other related municipal legislation.
11. Ability to work evenings, statutory holidays and weekends as required and travel to various work locations.
12. Strong political acuity and awareness of municipal processes would be considered an asset.
A Qualified List of candidates will be established for the Project Coordinator (Elections) position in the City Clerk's Divison and will be in effect for 24 months from the date the list is created. Qualified candidates on the list may be considered when filling futuretemporary vacancies in this position.
