Position Objective
Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre (HDS) is entering a time of great opportunity and transformation. We are looking for exceptional individuals to be part of our extraordinary team and future that includes a focus on leveraging capital planning and redevelopment to transform how we plan and deliver patient care at Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre and across the Niagara region.
Reporting to the Director, Capital Planning & Redevelopment, the Project Coordinator will be an integral part of the project team, assisting the team in procurement, planning and design coordination activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the Director with gathering and developing required documentation for Ministry of Health Capital Investment Branch planning submissions
- Support the Director and Project Management Team in ongoing projects ahead of the new capital build
- Assist with the coordination of procurement activities
- Develop schedule for user engagement in specification development, evaluations and vendor negotiation sessions
- Coordinate/liaise with Project team, suppliers, and vendors as required
- Tracking of contract invoicing and payments
- Coordinate and develop Committee documents and liaise with HDS departments
- Lead FF&E inventory and transfer plan with FF&E consultant
- Coordinate project initiatives for new build with Communications
- Support coordination of vendor site and deficiency reviews with Project team
- Support move activities through various assigned duties
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- College Diploma/University Degree in Engineering, Architecture preferred. Equivalent experience and education will be considered.
- 4 - 8 years demonstrated experience within a healthcare redevelopment project office or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in project management, preferable in a healthcare environment.
- CAPM or PMP designation is considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizations skills.
- Experience organizing/facilitating user group meetings.
- Able to effectively manage multiple project activities simultaneously, meeting deadlines and managing change is essential.
- P3 project experience and/or understanding of Infrastructure Ontario delivery model and Alternative Financing and Procurement considered an asset.
- Experience with negotiating and consensus building.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel, Power Point.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Must be able to work in a fast-past environment, prioritize activities and be detail oriented.
- Flexible, self-directed, ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Excellent work performance and attendance record is essential.
- Sustainable Design/LEED/WELL experience is an asset.
- Confirming, working with the consulting team(s) that projects adhere to all Building Code, Fire Code, and the Ministry of Health Capital Planning process and any other relevant guidelines and legislation.
- Understanding of internal and external policies and guidelines (e.g. Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Ontario Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, hospital’s IPAC requirements etc.)
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset.
Hours Of Work
The successful candidate will work onsite at HDS, Monday – Friday, 8-hour days (75 paid hours biweekly).
