Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience, ideally as a Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager.
  • Previous work with a general contractor delivering institutional, multi‑unit, or mixed‑use projects.
  • Strong knowledge of document control, scheduling, and construction administration.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills in client‑facing settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project coordination support during preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with site teams, consultants, and trade partners to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Attend site meetings, record minutes, and follow up on action items.

Overview

Our client is seeking a Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager to support a major long‑term care and multi‑use institutional project based in Pickering, Ontario. This site‑based position offers the opportunity to be part of a large, multi‑phase development scheduled to begin construction in January 2026. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, growth‑minded, and ready to take on increasing responsibility within an established, reputable builder.

Responsibilities
  • Provide project coordination support during preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining construction schedules using Procore.
  • Collaborate closely with site teams, consultants, and trade partners to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Support claims management, budget tracking, and cost reporting alongside the Project Manager.
  • Attend site meetings, record minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and proactive jobsite culture rooted in quality, safety, and accountability.
