Project Overview
The project coordinator will be responsible for Government Reorganization (GR) projects.
The GR Coordinator will lead a team in developing, implementing, and executing information technology projects or oversee a complex specialized area within IT. This role supports GR and transition services for the GoA ministries undergoing government cabinet change and ministry reorganization.
GR projects involve investigating, analyzing, and coordinating various Information Management and Technology (IMT) changes in the GoA environment, such as department name changes and movement of programs, services, and personnel. These projects include managing Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft file system security in the GoA environment.
Effective communication with stakeholders and co-workers is essential to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations. The position requires utilizing diverse IT expertise to operate independently or guide others.
This role is responsible for planning, managing, and reporting on IT projects, overseeing all project aspects. It involves building and maintaining relationships with team members, vendors, and other involved departments, and preparing project status reports for upper management.
The GR Project Coordinator manages projects ranging from internal divisional initiatives to multi-ministry efforts, varying in scope and size. The coordinator is responsible for one or more projects at a time, ensuring stakeholder governance is effective and aligned with demonstrating value and benefits.
Duties include:
• Investigating, analyzing, and coordinating IMT changes due to department name changes or movement of programs, services, and personnel.
• Leading consultations and stakeholder meetings.
• Creating business requirements, functional specifications, and technical requirements.
• Scheduling and leading project status meetings.
• Developing project and planning documents.
• Bridging communication between vendors, client ministries, and technical/business teams.
• Escalating unresolved issues or risks with options and recommendations.
• Coordinating IT infrastructure implementation.
• Ensuring projects are delivered according to scope, schedule, and client expectations while adhering to cybersecurity and operational standards.
• Providing weekly status reports and maintaining project documentation in SharePoint.
• Using project management methodologies and tools to manage resources and stakeholder engagement.
• Tracking and reporting on project time and status.
• Documenting technical recommendations and providing guidance.
• Following change management processes.
• Making recommendations on issues, risks, and client satisfaction.
• Collaborating on proof of concept and limited production rollouts.
• Ensuring quality control in implementations.
• Communicating operation guidelines and policies.
• Reviewing new service and technology requests and assessing their impact.
Required experience includes:
• Leading technical teams in multiple IT project implementations in large enterprise environments.
• Defining project scope and goals with stakeholders.
• Developing project deliverables such as charters, business cases, reports, risk logs, and closures.
• Managing multiple projects concurrently.
