Job summary

E.S. Fox Limited in Hamilton, ON, is seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee contract administration, budgets and multi-trade coordination for civil, structural and architectural projects.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will manage schedules, costs and procurement, while ensuring safety, quality and environmental standards are met across projects.

Qualifications

• 3 years of construction industry experience required.
• Experience on construction job sites preferred.
• CET designation strongly preferred.
• Engineering/Engineering Technology degree or diploma is an asset.
• Professional certification as Foreman (CCA Gold Seal) is an asset.
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Knowledge of scheduling, job costing and project tracking systems.
• Strong technical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multi-trade projects including civil, structural and architectural work.
• Maintain contact with customers, contractors and trades.
• Represent ESFL professionally as main contact with owners.
• Oversee project scope, budget and cost issues with owners.
• Develop and monitor project schedules and progress.
• Ensure contracts are followed and documents are in order.
• Uphold EH&S and ISO 14001 environmental requirements on projects.
• Oversee resource allocation and quality assurance on projects.
• Organize project requisitions with central purchasing.
• Assist with or supervise field work as needed.

Our office inHamilton, ON, is looking for a Project Coordinatorto join our team.

Summary of the Role

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of projects including but not limited to the complete administration of contracts and contractual obligations including those relating to the management of multi-disciplined trades as well as subcontractors/vendors, budgets, contract changes, order changes, drawings, material requisitions, etc. to provide a complete and commissioned system installation package.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate multi-trade projects with an emphasis on civil, structural and architectural construction.
• Maintain direct contact with customers and/or contractors/trades.
• Represent E.S. Fox Limited as point of contact with the owner in a professional, businesslike, and reasonable manner.
• Understand all aspects of a project scope and budget while liaising with the owner on all cost issues.
• Develop overall project schedules and oversee the maintenance, progress, and issuance of schedule.
• Understand and administer the contractual agreement between E.S. Fox Limited and either the owner or the subcontractors depending on the circumstance, and ensure the Company conforms to the contract documents.
• Address all relevant issues with appropriate correspondence in a professional manner.
• Ensure the project is executed in a safe manner following the E.S. Fox Limited Environmental Health and Safety Management System and OSHA requirements.
• Ensure the environmental aspects of the project are adhered to pursuant to ISO 14001 Environmental requirements of the project.
• Ensure the appropriate level of quality assurance is applied to the project with the appropriate resources.
• Ensure the project is adequately resourced for proper control.
• Develop or oversee the development of all project requisitions and work with the central purchasing group to obtain all material in accordance with project schedules.
• Recognize and retain productive labour while also addressing any issues that may occur.
• Organize or oversee the tools and equipment for projects.
• Understand job costing and tracking reports, i.e. – dollars, hours, schedule, etc.
• Assemble estimates for projects and project extras.
• Develop cost estimates and execute cost reduction strategies.
• Performs and/or supervises field work.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

• Three (3) years of relevant construction industry experience is required.
• Experience working on construction job sites is preferred.
• Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation is strongly preferred.
• Completion of an Engineering or Engineering Technology degree or diploma program is considered an asset.
• Professional Certification as Foreman through CCA Gold Seal Program is an asset.
• Demonstrated understanding of project management software (MS Project, Primavera etc.).
• Demonstrated understanding of scheduling, job costing and project tracking systems.
• Must have strong technical, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
