Description:

This position is a part of the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).
This position has a term length of 1 year plus 1 day, with the possibility of extension, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Location: This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.

Working for the Faculty of Nursing:
Translating Research in Elder Care (TREC) is a research program in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. TREC is a pan-Canadian and international program of applied research. We are seeking a mature and experienced project coordinator to manage a multi-component intervention.

Position Summary:
This position will focus on the coordination of a project aimed to support a more resilient and stable workforce of care home managers. The Project Coordinator will support all aspects of the studies including day to day project management, communication with stakeholders, drafting reports, and budget reviews.

Duties:

  • Monitor, maintain, and update detailed project timelines and deliverables for each project, ensuring targets are achieved
  • Understand and maintain study protocols to reflect the requirements of the projects
  • Maintain a small budget of local resource funds; monitoring the budget, compiling and submitting financial reports to the TREC's Senior Management team
  • Attend training sessions, team meetings, and AGMs (usually held in Edmonton)
  • Help develop project materials including: documents, questionnaires, packages, etc.
  • Help ensure that project data is collected in a timely manner
  • Obtain appropriate permissions for survey scale
  • Ensure that quality control procedures are adhered to, and the highest quality data is collected
  • Must be able to troubleshoot with any immediate issues arising and escalate issues as needed
  • Assist with recruitment and data collection and data management for the projects
  • Work collectively with members of the TREC team to develop and deliver multi-media feedback to managers and care aides
  • Complete reports for the funder and separate narrative report for key stakeholders
  • Support presentations and other dissemination activities

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an Undergraduate degree in a health or social sciences discipline; graduate degree in health or highly related social science discipline is required
  • 3-5 years of related project coordination experience in health research settings is mandatory
  • Experience in health setting is a requirement; strong preference will be given to applicants with continuing care experience
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and constructively in a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Self-directed and highly organized
  • Detail oriented with strong problem solving and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact constructively with members of the public and with health professionals is essential
  • The ability to work within a complex environment with multiple stakeholder relationships and projects is essential
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must have computer proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in residential long term care setting is a definite asset
