Type: Full-Time | Field-Based

About Firma: Firma Concrete is an Alberta-based structural concrete contractor known for quality, safety, and performance. We specialize in complex infrastructure, transit, and industrial projects with a boots-on-the-ground, solutions-first approach. As our project volume grows, we’re hiring Entry-Level Project Coordinators ready to build long-term careers in concrete construction leadership.

Position Summary

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to transition into project coordination—whether you\'re a new graduate, hold your NCO (National Construction Officer) certification through ACSA, or are a skilled tradesperson ready to move out of tools and into planning, sequencing, and documentation. You’ll support execution on scopes like embedded rail, track slabs, and complex formwork while learning everything from LEM tracking to blueprint interpretation. This role includes occasional site walks and direct involvement in daily field operations, so being hands-on is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily tracking of Labour, Equipment, and Material (LEM) reports to support billing and productivity
  • Support pour prep, layout coordination, toolbox meetings, QA/QC documentation, and strip-out logistics
  • Upload RFIs, daily reports, inspection forms, and site progress through Paradim, Aconex, Fieldwire, or Excel
  • Perform site walks with supervisors to monitor progress, maintain sequencing, and flag issues early
  • Help read and reference construction drawings and specifications (training provided)
  • Support safety tasks—PPE checks, hydration stations, and exclusion zone setup on high-traffic days
  • Coordinate with layout crews, rebar teams, finishers, and engineers to prevent scope conflicts
  • Schedule material and equipment deliveries
  • Initiate and follow up on quotes for materials, rentals, or subcontractor scopes to be processed by the office or purchasing
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
  • Trades experience (formwork, rebar, finishing, or general labor) and looking to shift into a coordinator role OR
  • Entry-level applicant with post-secondary education in construction, civil tech, or related field OR
  • NCO-certified (ACSA) and seeking your first or next role in site management
  • Comfortable being active on-site and engaged in real-time field operations
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to manage documentation in real time
  • Solid understanding of QA/QC processes and tolerance-sensitive scopes
  • Familiarity with LEM tracking systems and how they relate to cost recovery
  • Tech literate: experience with field management platforms and digital site documentation
  • Able to read blueprints and think proactively across trades
  • Valid Class 5 license and reliable access to multiple job sites
Wage & Compensation
  • Competitive wage based on experience
  • Overtime opportunities and travel coverage where applicable
  • Full PPE provided: safety glasses, hard hat, vests, gloves, and additional task-specific gear
  • Real involvement in high-performance concrete scopes across LRT, transit, and industrial sectors
  • Strong team culture that rewards reliability, initiative, and continuous learning
