ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Project Coordinator, you will support the project management team and coordinate road construction activities across residential and commercial projects in Edmonton and nearby areas. You may oversee entire project scopes or smaller projects, depending on requirements and direction from the Project Manager. This role offers hands-on experience in road construction and contributes to project success.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Assist in proposal writing, information gathering, and estimating tasks during the bid process.
  • Support the estimating team with quantity takeoffs and help prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates, schedules, and verifications.
  • Lead project kick-off activities, including preplanning, schedule submissions, and safety, eco, and quality plans.
  • Understand project scope and schedules to ensure efficient execution.
  • Coordinate with clients, manage site meetings, resolve disputes, and handle invoicing, collections, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with project teams, oversee junior coordinators, and support project staff and crews.
  • Conduct site verifications, including surveys and plan take-offs.
  • Complete project close-out tasks, including documentation and inspections.
  • Provide project close-out reviews to management.
  • Promote safety and environmental policies, fostering a safety culture.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: Diploma or Degree; Preferred: C.E.T designation; Civil Engineering background.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in project coordination, field supervision, and estimating.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, Bluebeam, Bid2Win; knowledge of road construction including paving, sub-grade, gravel, concrete, and subcontractor operations.
  • Travel: Frequent travel within Edmonton and surrounding areas.
  • Additional Requirements: Monitor costs, liaise with clients, support financial targets, manage project plans, lead safety and environmental compliance, and ensure PPE protocols are followed.
