Role Summary

We're hiring a Project Coordinator to support telecom and underground utility projects from the Calgary office with regular site travel. You'll own documentation control, schedule and budget tracking, subcontractor coordination, and site mobilization tasks that keep projects on time and on spec. Per diem and accommodations provided for travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project documentation control: permits, drawings, change notices, site logs, and as-built records to support audits and decision-making.
  • Track schedules, milestones and basic budget/forecast items; identify variances and propose corrective actions.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance for compliance with drawings, specifications and health & safety requirements.
  • Coordinate site mobilization activities (permits, equipment staging, resource allocation) to meet planned start dates.
  • Produce concise progress reports and decision-ready summaries for operations and leadership.
  • Serve as the point of contact for routine site inquiries and escalations; escalate risks promptly.
  • Collaborate across engineering, procurement and operations to close open items and unblock field crews.

Qualifications

Required (must-haves)

  • Solid experience in project coordination, construction administration, or similar roles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills expected.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and proven organizational ability.
  • Comfortable prioritizing competing tasks in a fast-paced environment and traveling regularly to sites.

Preferred (nice-to-have)

  • Experience in telecom, fibre-optic, or underground utility construction.
  • Familiarity with permitting, construction contracts, or project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Construction safety training or tickets (e.g., WHMIS, site safety induction).
