Job description

Agilus is recruiting for a Project Controls – Planner / Scheduler in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.

Reporting to a Manager Project Controls, you will provide planning/scheduling expertise, consulting with project team members on assigned projects. With your experience and knowledge of project controls processes and tools, you will handle planning/scheduling, change management, progress and performance analysis, forecasting, and reporting, focusing on timeliness and accuracy.

A typical day:
  1. Drive adherence to safety compliance; develop, maintain, and improve all aspects of project planning/scheduling for successful PC service on assigned projects.
  2. Maintain Schedule Breakdown Structure (WBS), Work Packages, Calendars, and Resource assignments within the schedule for assigned projects.
  3. Analyze and evaluate schedule management involving critical path method (CPM), estimate change notices impact, manage scope and potential changes, and forecast their impact on project finish date.
  4. Onboard and steward Construction contractors regarding Planning & Scheduling requirements, ensuring early compliance with contractual obligations and standards. Lead contractor development and adherence to schedule best practices.
  5. Verify project progress & performance by comparing actual, planned, and forecasted hours, key quantities installed, and explaining variances. Identify potential future schedule impacts.
  6. Collaborate with functions such as PC Cost, PC Estimating, Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, Finance, and Project Governance to incorporate necessary inputs into planning efforts to achieve project goals.
Successful candidates will have:
  • 7-10 years of Project Controls experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience in Planning/Scheduling, project management of change, field progress systems, and contractor performance management in major projects.
  • Knowledge of estimate development, cost processes, tools, SAP, and ECOSYS is an asset.
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or equivalent.
