Position overview

The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for managing cost, schedule, risk, and reporting processes that guide decision-making and lay the foundation for successful project delivery.

How you will contribute to the team
  • Lead the development and implementation of project controls systems, procedures, and tools tailored to the progressive design environment.
  • Oversee cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and earned value reporting.
  • Manage project schedules, ensuring alignment with design deliverables, early works, and overall project milestones.
  • Monitor and analyze project performance data, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate risk management processes, including risk registers, mitigation strategies, and contingency planning.
  • Support commercial and contract teams by providing cost and schedule analysis for change management and claims.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely project controls reports to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, construction, and commercial teams to ensure project controls integration across all workstreams.
  • Mentor and develop project controls staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional designation (e.g., PMP, P.Eng.) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in project controls on large-scale rail, transit, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Expertise in cost control, scheduling, earned value management, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with project controls software.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
