Project Controls Manager

Lynn Lake Project

Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Controls Manager will provide assistance and leadership for project control functions; including planning, cost control, schedule analysis, and scope management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team to develop, implement and manage project controls systems and procedures for the Lynn Lake Project
• Working with accounting personnel to ensure accurate reporting and approval of accruals, forecasts, and project status.
• Early identification and notification of deviations and variances to project baseline schedule and spend.
• Weekly and monthly reporting to the project team concerning cost, scope and schedule status.
• Compilation and review of weekly and monthly cost reports that reconcile to site financial cost reports.
• Coordination of project Change Management process and procedures.
• Coordination of project risk assessments and risk register.
• Work collaboratively with the Contracts team to support the formation of construction and procurement contracts
• Comparing physical job progress against contractor progress reports, accruals and invoices.
• Assisting contractors & vendors in the set-up and implementation of project controls procedures required by the project.
• Monitor and manage scope growth in engineering, procurement and construction contracts.
• Review and analysis of contractor and project schedule updates.
• Other tasks as required.

Qualifications

Education

Preferred

Bachelor's degree or better in Engineering.

Bachelor's degree or better in Finance and Economics.

Experience

Preferred

8-10 year experience in managing projects and/or project controls.

Mining or heavy industrial construction experience considered an asset.

Working knowledge of accounting principles and requirements required.

Experience with Project Management applications (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Prism) required

Proficient use of Microsoft applications, SAP and PowerBi.

Excellent planning, leadership, organization and communication skills.

Ability to communicate and interact within all levels of the organization.

Ability and willingness to work the required rotation schedule.
