Qualifications

The Position

The Project Controls Manager is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of Project Control functions. The Project Controls Manager oversees the functions for the business that ensure conformance to critical procedures and consistent service to all Eclipse business units.

The Project Controls Manager is a key member of the operations leadership team and is ultimately accountable for measuring operational performance and driving continuous improvement through all centralized operational functions while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Oversees the auditing process for project administration, ensuring adherence to budget, baseline, and critical path milestones, in line with defined authority levels.
  • Establish and maintain the project's integrated Project Controls systems, overseeing the setting of the cost and schedule baselines on Projects.
  • Understand business requirements and prioritize team efforts and strategies accordingly.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-term departmental goals and objectives that support overall corporate objectives, monitoring regularly using KPIs to ensure they are being met
  • Ensure Project Controls engagement in "Projected Phase" for effective Kick-off input
  • Support the business in tracking the overall health of projects; establish and maintain a communication plan for timely and accurate information flow to Project Teams and key stakeholders
  • Lead meetings to communicate project performance status to the broader project team, ensuring transparency and clarity.
  • Oversee the analysis and reporting of key project performance metrics (e.g., CPI, SPI); propose corrective actions for maintaining productivity and provide timely alerts on trends.
  • Support the reporting out on Earned Value Management (EVM) to measure project performance, identify variances, and facilitate accurate forecasting.
  • Ensure all Project Controls requirements related to contract conditions, project set-up, monitoring, and close-out are met.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of Eclipse Automation Project Controls policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure policies and procedures for the department are current and updated
  • Delivers training to Project Managers and Project Coordinators at all business units, ensuring consistent understanding and use of Project Management and Project Controls procedures and database tools
Leadership
  • Promote positive relations between members of own department and other stakeholders
  • Conduct regular meetings with all direct reports to review status of projects, teams and discuss future planning requirements
  • Work with Supervisors and Leads to identify employees that require additional training and development
  • Provide coaching and mentorship for direct reports to develop new skills and look for growth opportunities
  • Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations which support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct formal performance reviews for all direct reports
  • Provide support within their department for company-wide policies and initiatives to ensure understanding and impact
  • Communicates and clarifies departmental and individual expectations for team members
  • Plan and prioritize tasks and projects within the department and delegate to direct reports as needed
  • Recommend Eclipse Database improvements on an ongoing basis to increase efficiency throughout the company
  • Regularly provide reports to Director of Operation with information on group performance, project status, resource requirements and the efficiency of internal systems and processes
  • Ensure department activities meet Eclipse Automation quality, safety and reliability standards
  • Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business
Travel
  • Expectation of travel is less than 20% of time, however, may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet organizational needs
What We're Looking For:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Engineering, Automation, Economics, International Business or related field
Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in the Automation industry
  • 5+ years of increasing responsibility as a Supervisor or Manager
  • Proven leadership skills, providing direct employee oversight and coaching
