Job description

Agilus is recruiting for a Project Controls Coordinator III in the Oil and Gas Sector in Edmonton, Alberta.

We are looking for a Project Controls Coordinator for our client in Edmonton or Calgary.

A typical day:
  1. Provide full Project Control Management, including cost and schedule development and control throughout the project lifecycle.
  2. Assist the Project Engineer/Manager with Project Scope Management by providing insights and recommendations into scope definition, verification, change control, and financial health.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams, including Field Cost Control Analysts, to understand incurred field costs and stakeholder indirect costs, comparing these against budgets and monthly forecasts.
  4. Prepare expenditure profiles, workforce histograms, comparative capital cost estimates, and monthly forecast summaries.
  5. Support other departments' cost management efforts with estimating and internal cost controls.
  6. Track Key Performance Indicators and work with teams to enhance project execution.
  7. Generate regular and ad hoc analyses, including graphs, tables, and presentations.
  8. Develop templates, policies, and procedures to assist project managers in implementing Gating Controls Processes. Prepare project status reports with variance analysis and explanations for senior and project management.
Successful candidates will have:
  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Construction experience related to cost and scheduling controls of multidisciplinary projects, with industrial construction experience and familiarity with engineering, procurement, contracting, execution, and commissioning phases being highly desirable.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel (including v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Software experience with MS Office Suite and Oracle or SAP; Power BI and EcoSys experience are a plus.
  • A general understanding of pipeline and terminal operations.
