Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking a Project Control Analyst to join its Project Services – Project Cost Control team, with offices in Vancouver and other BC locations. You will drive project performance by ensuring integrated tracking of costs, progress and schedules across the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate with project managers, planners and technical teams to produce forecasts (EAC/ETC), perform variance analyses, and apply Earned Value Management to guide proactive decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project control or project cost control.
• Experience working on engineering projects is mandatory.
• Experience in heavy industrial projects is a strong asset.
• Required knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and its indicators (PV, EV, AC, CPI, SPI).
• Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, baselines, and variance analysis concepts.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (analysis, tracking tables, modeling).
• Knowledge of Primavera P6, Power BI, InEight, or similar tools (an asset).
• Ability to work on complex and multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong rigor, analytical mindset, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• The candidate may be required to travel occasionally

Responsibilities

• Track project cost control including budgets, committed costs, and forecasts.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to measure performance.
• Analyze progress and its impact on costs and schedules.
• Prepare and maintain forecasts (EAC/ETC) with project managers.
• Provide integrated cost, schedule, and progress analyses and identify risks and opportunities.
• Perform variance analysis against baselines and recommend corrective actions.
• Support change management with cost and schedule impacts.
• Ensure data quality and traceability in project systems.
• Collaborate with planners to align cost data with schedules.
• Participate in project review meetings and present performance insights.
• Apply WSP project control frameworks and best practices.
• Contribute to tool and process improvements within Cost Control.
• Support junior and intermediate PCOs within Project Services team.
