Job description

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Project Control Officer to perform financial management activities such as project budget forecasting and payment processing while following bank guidelines. The role involves managing various components of the budget, including international and Canadian project teams. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in Role:

  1. Update financial information for the Executive Steering Committee documents and administer the SharePoint for Collection Solutions.
  2. Support countries/regions with financial management of assigned budgets, building strong partnerships.
  3. Collaborate with IT management, security advisory, and operational risk teams globally to ensure effective assessments.
  4. Develop and enhance communication models to manage vulnerabilities, control gaps, and issues.
  5. Identify opportunities for process improvements and strategy development for program maturity.
  6. Ensure adherence to process flows to mitigate or eliminate risks.
  7. Manage scheduling, oversight, and delivery of project deliverables to stakeholders.
  8. Support the Delivery Manager / Project Manager by maintaining project documentation, RAID logs, and status reports.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of PCO experience in financial institutions working on project financials.
  • 2+ years of recent experience with a top 5 Canadian bank.
  • 2+ years of recent experience using Clarity (CA-PPM).
  • 4+ years of experience with MS Project.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Previous bank experience preferred.
  • PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with risk regulatory projects.

  • Strong work ethic.
  • Outgoing and extroverted personality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Quick learner.

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related fields.
