Position Description
The Project Control Officer supports CGI Directors and their teams by tracking and producing reports on key sector and project initiatives. This includes status reports, presentations, asset storage, work plans, financials, change requests, time logging, deliverables, innovations, external software and licenses, resource onboarding and offboarding, and risk and issue management.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Support sector leadership with deliverables such as status reports, work plans, meeting notes, schedules, resource plans, and risk and issue tracking documents.
- Track decisions regarding change requests, identified risks, and outstanding items.
- Attend sector and engagement meetings, ensuring meeting notes and action plans are clearly documented and communicated.
- Support the project change management process; review submitted changes, initiate and monitor approval workflows, and work with stakeholders for timely approvals.
- Report on internal sector, engagement, and project resources (people, capital, expenses).
- Assist in the design, development, documentation, and implementation of new and ad hoc reports, templates, and processes as required.
- Prepare presentation materials (reports, charts, graphs) for senior management and client-facing meetings.
- Take initiative with ongoing process improvements and enhancements.
- Track training requests, related expenses, approvals, and outcomes.
- Track external software license inventory, manage renewals, track invoices, and handle approvals.
- Manage resource onboarding, offboarding, compliance, track assignments, and update relevant systems.
- Support project financials, actuals vs. forecast metrics, and time logging reports.
- Work closely with Directors to track deliverables and risks/issues.
- Assist with special projects as required.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, and/or project coordination or management.
- Strong knowledge of project management practices.
- Understanding of planning, monitoring, and controlling techniques for programs/projects.
- Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, MS Excel, and CRM.
- Understanding of cost metrics and tools (e.g., EMT, revenue, cost margins).
Asset Qualifications
- Prior experience as a project control officer.
- CAPM certification (asset).
- PMP certification and familiarity with PMBOK (asset).
- Understanding of IT concepts, systems, and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, DevOps).
- Familiarity with SDLC.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, SharePoint).
