A leading company in the tech sector is seeking a Project Coordinator for a 7-month contract in Markham. The role involves supporting IT programs, managing project activities, and ensuring high standards in project delivery. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in project management and possess strong organizational skills.
Project Coordinator (Contract Position)
Number of Positions: 1 Duration: 7 months initial contract
Location: Markham, ON, CA
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Hybrid position, 3d/w onsite now, may require more in future, no exceptions
Roles and responsibilities:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a fast-paced environment supporting IT programs
Candidate needs to be a self-starter and takes initiative.
Proactive communicator and willing to escalate issues/concerns in a timely manner
• Provides support and control of project management activities, thereby providing quality and excellence in project delivery under the direct supervision and in support of the Project Manager.
• The project coordinator may be expected to manage a phase within a project, or a light governance project under the direct coaching of a project manager.
• Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project-oriented work efforts.
• Assists the Project Manager with day-to-day activities including status reporting utilizing project
management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
• Responsible for administration & tracking of projects through all phases from initiation to project completion
• Identifies project-scheduling issues and potential risks
• Ensures governance and process alignment - takes guidance from project managers, QA and Compliance with respect to project processes, procedures, metrics, and reporting
Must have skills/experience/qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Knowledge of any Enterprise Portfolio Management applications (EPM)
• Good Microsoft Project skills and knowledge, proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• College Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and collaboration skills
• Strong organization skills including demonstrated tenacity for following up with team on outstanding items
• Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
• Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply various of the client’s guidelines, policies and procedures
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced and evolving organization
