Hourly range of $32.00 – $50.00. This position is for an existing, open vacancy.

Summary

The Project Co-Ordinator is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget and in accordance with specifications. To achieve these goals the Project Co-Ordinator will define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and assist in the supervision and leading of project team members. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders and upward reporting to senior management are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each projects’ lifecycle. The Project Co-Ordinator is responsible for planning, executing and delivery of projects, on-time, within budget and in accordance with client specifications.

Job Duties
  • Assist the Project Manager where applicable, in the day-to-day duties of a project’s administration.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for potential projects and purchase material for awarded projects
  • Prepare awarded job packages for shop fabrication/field installation. This will include procurement of necessary material, and the assembly of pertinent drawings and documentation essential for the completion of the job.
  • Assist in plan and specification analysis in order to provide clear, trackable and coordinated interpretations of designs/drawings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on jobs in progress, quotes, vendors/subcontractors and track responses and advise and communicate with the Project Manager on the status on a daily basis.
  • Obtain quotations for Notices of Change.
  • Act as a liaison with sub-contractors in the expedition of quoting and associated documentation and relevant information.
  • Monitor and assist with site work, when required, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, and codes and to assist team in completion of project.
  • Prepare drawings and sketches to support Project Managers as required.
  • Attend project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as requested or required.
  • Coordinate periodic job-related photographs for records
  • Communicate with the project manager/site supervisor to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications.
  • Meet with client to ensure that the client’s vision and specifications are being met. Make adjustments to the quotes in accordance with the client’s needs and demands.
  • Assist in the resolution of change requests.
  • Assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others. Communicate effectively (both orally and written) and represent the company and project team in a professional manner to the Owner, Architects, related project staff and the community.
  • Mentoring and training of personnel to assist with project co-ordination and estimating function.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in the trades and also in purchasing or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 – 10 years of experience as a Project Co-Ordinator.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written; strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans.
  • A solid understanding of all trades and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Solid Works would be a definite asset.
  • As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must meet all Government of Canada security screening requirements and maintain the applicable security clearance(s) for the duration of their employment in the role.
Work Conditions
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Travel to client location, construction sites and other off-site locations maybe required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Working both indoors and outdoors required
  • Will be exposed to construction sites.
