Job summary

Sense Engineering in Vancouver is seeking a Project Associate to support the capital planning team. You will work with Project Managers and Principals on a range of projects, gaining hands-on exposure across project phases while representing Sense Engineering with professionalism.

The role requires a Building Science or Civil/Architectural Engineering degree, co-op experience, EGBC eligibility, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field.
• Co-op or internship experience in the engineering consulting field is considered a strong asset.
• Registered with or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Good working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset.
• Team player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Perform site assessments and prepare technical reports, including Depreciation Reports, Warranty Reviews, and Building/Property Condition Assessments.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and consultants to support efficient and timely project delivery.
• Represent Sense at client meetings and other networking functions with a commitment to exceptional service standards.
• Other duties as assigned/required.

General Responsibilities:

• Knowledge Development: Enhance your understanding of structural design and analysis, building science, life cycle analysis and costing while sharing insights and lessons learned with the team.

• This position is eligible for profit sharing bonuses based on company and individual performance, increasing the estimated total compensation range to $70,000 to $90,000.
