Job description

Classification: Temporary Full-Time (until approx. March 2025)

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre’ Department of Quality & Patient Safety is seeking a dynamic individual to provide support to multiple projects connected to the hospital’s Senior Friendly Strategy. This position will work as part of the Senior Friendly Team and will report to the Manager, Senior Friendly & Best Practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the collection of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Collect data from patient and care team records and enter relevant data into a database with extremely high accuracy
  • Conduct basic data analyses
  • Conduct literature reviews, extracting data from abstracts and full journal articles as needed
  • Conduct key stakeholder interviews, focus groups or patient/family interviews, as needed
  • Organize and format project results to be presentable and easily comprehensible.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned depending on the individual requirements of each project

Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in health sciences or health profession
  • Experience in data collection and analysis preferred
  • Understanding of privacy legislation including the Personal Health Information Act and the Public Hospitals’ Act
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Experience in a hospital or working with healthcare staff preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in geriatric care, particularly in the areas of delirium and functional decline is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), with specific emphasis on Microsoft Excel and/or Access
