Job summary

Randstad Canada in Toronto area is recruiting a General Accountant to join a fast-paced consumer goods finance team. You will handle day-to-day data entry, core bookkeeping duties, and high-volume vendor/customer communications, reporting to the Senior Accountant.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in accounting, hands-on NetSuite experience, and strong GST/HST knowledge with excellent communication and ownership mindset.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of practical accounting experience, ideally within consumer goods, retail, or distribution.
• Hands-on experience using NetSuite or a similar cloud-based ERP system.
• Solid understanding of core AP/AR processes, basic ledger mechanics, and high-level GST/HST compliance.
• Inquisitive mindset with a strong sense of personal ownership and high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a positive, service-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily transactional accounting activities, including accurate data entry, customer invoicing, and vendor bill processing.
• Conduct daily bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure financial records are current.
• Manage the general accounting email inbox, responding promptly to internal and external inquiries.
• Assist with month-end routines and prepare high-level GST/HST sales tax reporting.
• Maintain clean audit trails and accurate master data within the NetSuite ERP system.
• Partner closely with the Senior Accountant to resolve discrepancies and streamline operational workflows.
