Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant for a 12-month contract in Canada. You will support financial success of complex projects through reporting, analysis, forecasting and accounting activities, with a potential transition to permanent employment based on performance.

You will prepare monthly project reporting on revenue, margins, cash flow and backlog, manage AR/WIP, forecast budgets, and ensure IFRS 15 revenue recognition and accruals are accurate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce or related field.
• CPA designation or progress toward is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years in accounting/finance/project accounting.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly project reporting and analysis on revenue, gross margin, cash flow and backlog.
• Ensure AR and WIP are current and follow up on overdue items.
• Assist with project forecasts, budgets and estimates.
• Prepare revenue recognition and accrual entries under IFRS 15.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and entries.
• Review project changes/reforecasts and reflect in Oracle system.
• Meet month-end reporting deadlines and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Ensure letters of credit and guarantees meet contractual obligations.
• Perform ad-hoc reporting and contribute to process improvements.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support the financial success of complex projects through reporting, analysis, forecasting, and accounting activities.
