Overview
Progress Developer — This is a remote working arrangement as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement. Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
What You Will Do
The Software Developer is responsible for understanding complex business problems and translating technical knowledge into practical, implementable solutions that drive high-impact business value. You will work closely with team members to maintain internal applications and develop new products and services.
- Work with stakeholders, technology, and agile project managers to define business requirements for every scrum/project and map out end-to-end solutions.
- Design, develop, enhance, modify, and maintain application code and software solutions based on specific business requirements.
- Liaise with internal user groups to effectively program applications based on business and systems requirements.
- Ensure that functional specifications can be implemented technically while developing and innovating creative solutions.
- Be an integral part of the Information Systems team focused on the effective development and support of internal-facing applications.
- Collaborate with peers and business partners to deliver high-quality projects and innovative solutions that advance Fidelity’s position within the Mutual Fund industry.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Economics or Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of related experience.
- Knowledge and experience in developing applications for the mutual fund/investment industry.
- Passionate about developing database solutions.
- Development experience in Progress OpenEdge or other database platforms such as Oracle or MySQL.
- Effective communication skills with ability to prepare project documentation and presentations.
