Title: Programs Specialist (Commercial P&C Insurance)

Location: GTA West – Hybrid (1 Day per week in the office)

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate terms on new and existing programs
  • Recommend innovative solutions
  • Participate in broker visits, insurance industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development
  • Provide technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team members
  • Work in collaboration with other internal departments including but not limited to actuary, risk control, claims, marketing, business development, and legal
  • Develop and update program agreements
  • Oversee the maintenance of programs (renewals, endorsements, etc.)
  • Research current trends in the industry pertaining to new and existing programs

Qualifications:

  • CIP obtained, CRM/FCIP is an asset
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Commercial Underwriting; commercial programs experience is preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers
  • Able to take initiative and be innovative
  • Able to negotiate moderately complex situations
  • Adept at shaping business relations with a view to meeting business and growth objectives
  • Experience working in a highly competitive sales environment
  • Client driven with excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • A high degree of professionalism, tact and discretion
  • Superior organization skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and innovative
