Job description

Position: Programming Assistant, Entertainment Specialty channels, 8 month contract
Location: 299 Queen Street, Toronto, Ontario
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required

Responsibilities

Standards & Practices is seeking a highly organized, knowledgeable TV aficionado to join its Programming team. The role of the Programming Assistant is to screen programming before it goes to air on channels such as CTV Drama, CTV Sci-Fi, CTV Comedy and the rest of our Entertainment Specialty channels to ensure that all programming complies with our broadcast standards and practices as well as in line with the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council’s codes.

  • Screen programming for content which includes screening for violence, language and nudity to ensure the programs can air in its scheduled timeslot
  • Liaising with Operations and Programming on creating program versions
  • Monitor schedule changes to ensure CTV Drama, CTV Comedy, CTV Sci-Fi, Much, and the rest of our Entertainment Specialty channels programming can air in its scheduled timeslot
  • Assign AGVOT ratings and disclaimers in our scheduling system
  • Responsible for Set-Top Box disclaimer and AGVOT reporting
  • Provide Digital with content clips on select programming
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Experience in IBMS an asset
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, in television or media or a relevant field or equivalent education and experience
  • Must be have a keen attention to detail
  • Must be extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to work well under pressure, possess excellent time management skills, be a self-starter, multi-task and meet assigned deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
