About this role

We are recruiting for a Programmer/Designer - Building Automation Systems to join our Technology Controls team.

Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

This is not an IT position.

Your responsibilities

  • Read engineering plans and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications and equipment
  • Select and size controls equipment and field devices to meet specifications
  • Design control network and power requirements
  • Produce shop drawing documents on schedule
  • Generate information labels/tags for wiring, end devices and controllers
  • Generate installation documentation for connection of field control devices
  • Gather information and produce As-Built documents
  • Produce detailed Sequence of Operations for a system based on specifications
  • Programming and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Maintain quality controls standards and control system documentation; "red line" shop drawings for "As-Builts"
  • Configure BAS networks (MS/TP and IP) and work with clients' IT departments to integrate the BAS throughout the site
  • Install and configure Data Acquisition and Reporting software
  • Provide training and support to clients on BAS

Your experience and skills

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree/Diploma
  • 2-5 years of direct experience working with HVAC controls systems
  • 2 years' relevant experience in the use of MS-Visio/MS-Office & Auto Cad
  • Experience in Third Party Integration of various systems such as chillers, boilers, metering and lighting panels
  • 1 year of experience in onsite commissioning of HVAC control systems
  • Knowledge of control system design and electrical control system wiring methods
  • Experience with networking, setting up Windows server, configuring routers and switches
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio)
  • Working knowledge of Reliable Controls and/or Schneider EcoStruxure product, an asset
  • Willing to travel to project sites within BC if required

Salary range: $70,000-$100,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will be commensurate with experience, skills and overall match to the position offered. Let's chat throughout the hiring process and determine the best fit.
