A leading educational institution in Ontario seeks a skilled technical support professional to enhance enterprise application systems. The role involves analyzing requirements, designing solutions, and maintaining system availability while collaborating with users and teams. Candidates need a degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with 4+ years of relevant experience, including ERP systems knowledge. Strong communication, problem-solving, and development skills are essential.
Purpose:
To support York's enterprise application systems that serve administrative units, including Oracle PeopleSoft systems (such as Human Resources and Finance), IBM Maximo, and the Alumni/Fundraising System. Responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, designing and developing solutions using tools like PeopleTools, Application Engine, PeopleCode, SQR, SQL, and XML Publisher. The role involves ensuring system availability, troubleshooting issues, supporting users, developing custom modules, and upgrading software. The incumbent will handle system development life cycle tasks, participate in web development for support systems, collaborate with clients and team members to integrate data into the university-wide reporting database, and ensure efficient report generation. Ongoing support and troubleshooting of production problems are also key aspects.
Education:
A university degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with at least 4 years of recent relevant experience at York University performing similar tasks. This educational requirement can be waived if the candidate demonstrates equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years in Information Systems Technology, including:
Preferred qualifications include experience with other ERP systems like IBM Maximo Asset Management or Ellucian Banner, PeopleTools, Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR, Integration Broker, fluid UI, Maximo development tools, PL/SQL on Oracle 19+, and knowledge of source control tools like GitHub, CVS, SVN. Technical skills in Visual, JavaScript, CSS, XML, and knowledge of PeopleSoft modules (HCM and Financials) are also desirable.
