We ensure children are well-fed and equipped with the skills to grow and cook their own food through programs like our Power Full Kids, the nation's largest direct-to-school food program, which aims to feed one million children annually by 2025.

About the Opportunity

Join our team as a highly organized and personable Program Specialist to help us amplify the impact of our vital Power Full Kids program. In this role, you'll manage the application process, ensuring adherence to audit standards and delivering insightful reports. You'll work closely with our program intermediaries to enhance program effectiveness and foster rewarding connections between our donors and fundraisers. Beyond these responsibilities, you're passionate about building an inclusive workplace that values diversity, continuous learning, collaboration, and recognizes team achievements.

Reports To: Senior Manager, Programs and Strategy

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Own the end-to-end Power Full Kids program application process, ensuring timely review, eligibility verification, and accurate payment processing. This includes evaluating applications for quality and adherence to program guidelines, extracting approved application data and preparing it for financial system import, maintaining accurate grant records within the financial system, and ensuring timely AP posting and approvals for each EFT cycle.
  2. Monitor program progress monthly, tracking key metrics such as disbursements by program and fund, application counts by program and province, and number of children reached by program and province.
  3. Review and update Power Full Kids program applications annually, including refining questions, email communications, and reporting forms.
  4. Identify and cultivate storytelling opportunities to enhance brand awareness and engagement on social media platforms.
  5. Support the launch and ongoing maintenance of the Power Full Kids Online Learning Platform, including coordinating initial school testing, gathering feedback, monitoring the platform to update content, providing school support, and generating reports.
  6. Respond to program inquiries received in the shared inbox in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Conduct annual audits of selected completed applications to ensure compliance with program guidelines.
  8. Coordinate engagement opportunities for colleagues, including team volunteering initiatives.
  9. Undertake special projects and other duties as required to support the overall success of the program.

Qualifications:

  • University and/or College education in business administration, communications, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, optimistic, and a collaborative team player.
  • Knowledge of French (an asset).
