At AFSC, we want to work with talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. We strive to create a psychologically safe environment where we can all be ourselves and perform to the best of our abilities. We care about each other, about Alberta and about agriculture. We are innovative, knowledgeable, and diverse and love what Albertan agriculture produces for people around the world. The perseverance and hard work we see from our clients inspires us to show that same work ethic in everything that we do. Working together, we grow and sustain the agriculture industry in Alberta.

Posting will close July 2, 2024.

Location is flexible, within Alberta, dependent on the successful applicant.

The Program Preparedness Analyst's primary role is to ensure that all of AFSC’s programs are delivered with a high level of quality as required by clients and staff. These team members will list, assign, track, monitor, maintain, and communicate tasks within Azure DevOps (ADO) and an agile framework. The role is crucial to ensuring AFSC's existing and new products are prepared for delivery on time and with a high level of accuracy.

This opportunity can serve as a gateway to understanding the programs AFSC offers. You'll have the chance to immerse yourself in the company's initiatives, gaining invaluable insights and experience. Engaging with these programs not only enriches your skill set but also fosters a deeper connection with the company's vision and goals. While knowledge of AFSC's programs is an advantage, a curious mindset, strong collaboration skills, willingness to learn, and an organized approach to work are equally important.

What will your growth opportunities look like in this role?

  • Gain a strong understanding of the various roles within the organization and the extensive behind-the-scenes work involved in delivering our products from start to finish.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with numerous departments across AFSC to expand your network.
  • Learn more about AFSC and the products we deliver in lending, risk management, and insurance.
  • In-house learning and development opportunities.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Identify tasks, timelines, and responsible departments in the development and maintenance of processes.
  • Monitor the flow of preparedness activities and continuously seek ways to streamline and improve processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical skills through assessment, development planning, and training.
  • Provide reports on preparedness status to stakeholders and perform other related activities.
  • Analyze impacts of disruptions to the preparedness process and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure the completion of tasks assigned to and overseen by the preparedness team.
  • Collaborate with various AFSC teams, including Product Coordinators/Owners, Digital Services, Processing and Verification, Actuarial, Business Intelligence, Pricing, and Client Services, to gather information, agree on directions, and implement operational plans and processes related to product preparedness.
  • Ensure understanding, agreement, and commitment from stakeholders regarding preparedness activities.
  • Act as an influential leader within the Product Innovation team and other collaborative teams.
  • Occasionally lead or participate in project work, including AgriRecovery preparedness.

What are we looking for from you?

  • A growth mindset, especially in leadership and emotional intelligence.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO), SharePoint, and Adobe Pro; working knowledge of Envoy and Connect is a plus.
  • Understanding of internal systems and processes.
  • Strong internal network and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple activities concurrently.
  • Focus on delivering an excellent client experience by understanding and addressing client needs.
  • Ability to negotiate, facilitate, and collaborate without direct authority.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and support team development.
  • Accountability in meeting commitments, adhering to policies, and addressing process issues promptly.
  • Experience with testing and working independently to achieve objectives.

What else is in it for you?

  • Health, dental, and vision benefits from day one.
  • $950 health spending account.
  • Opportunities for professional development and corporate functions.
  • Christmas closure and PSPP contributions.
  • Generous vacation and leave policies.
  • Health and wellness initiatives.

Qualifications:

Significant experience with AFSC’s internal processes across multiple departments. Knowledge of Lending or AgriStability products is beneficial. A relevant Bachelor's degree is preferred (alternatives will be considered).
