Tenure :

These are two term positions :

  • One from the reporting date until June 2026, with possibility of extension; and,
  • One from the reporting date until March 31, 2029

Work Arrangements : Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). Employees in this position who telework will be required to travel to the identified work site at least three times per week or a minimum of 60% of their regular work schedule at their own expense.

The Role

NRC’s Industrial Research Assistance Program is recruiting Program Officers to help support various programs managed by NRC IRAP. The role of the Program Officers is to support IRAP’s initiatives and program deliverables. The Program Officers should be individuals who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

As a Program Officer, you will be reporting to either a Manager or a Program Advisor – Team Lead within the IRAP Division Services team. You will provide analysis and advice on IRAP programming, and develop guidance related to specific program areas. You will collaborate with internal and / or external stakeholders in order to meet IRAP’s goals to help grow and support SME in Canada.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates :

Education

Undergraduate degree from a recognized postsecondary institution in a relevant discipline.

An acceptable combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Experience in developing procedures, processes and guidance material related to the administration and operations of programs.
  • Experience in giving advice and making recommendations to managers on complex programming or situations.
  • Experience in developing, liaising and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and / or external stakeholders.
  • Experience in coordinating or managing projects.
  • Assets :

  • Experience in the design and delivery of transfer payment programs.
  • Experience applying theories and principles of social sciences including economic, socio-economic, demographic and statistical research, forecasting and analysis.
  • Experience in coordinating change management activities.
  • Experience using data management tools
  • Condition of Employment

  • Reliability Status
  • For a Reliability Status, verification of background information over a period of 5 years is required.

    Compensation

    From $78,167 to $91,895 per annum.

    In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800per year.
