Position Summary : The Program Officer, Run Teams, Western Canada manages a portfolio of 1,100 Terry Fox Run fundraising teams that raise in excess $1.3 million. Situated within the Teams Department, and in collaboration with regional Community Directors and local volunteers, the Officer is responsible for program growth in Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, and Northwest Territories. The Officer oversees all aspects of stakeholder relationships including, but not limited to the implementation of Run engagement and fundraising strategies, contributing to targeted and effective communications, inventory and order fulfilment, and recognition strategies.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Steward a portfolio of Run Teams and volunteers in western Canada (1,100+).
  • Primary contact and support for regional stakeholders including volunteers, donors, and corporate and community partners.
  • Assist in the development of prospect pipeline to expand program reach and impact.
  • Contribute to Team and Team Captain retention strategy.
  • Plan and lead virtual and in-person cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising activities.
  • Report on operations, activity, and results compared to goals and objectives.
  • Point of contact for online team fundraising and donor online experiences (CrowdChange).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM (Salesforce).
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.

Metrics for Success

  • Growth in number of participating teams.
  • Meeting and exceeding annual revenue targets.
  • Successful cultivation and stewardship of teams / engagement.
  • Ability to champion the Foundation’s mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years fundraising experience (event-based fundraising and / or corporate partnerships).
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multitask, thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inform and inspire.
  • Self-starter and relationship builder with proven ability to support and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively / cross sectionally.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills,
  • Excellent presentation / public speaking skills.
  • Microsoft 365. Experience with Salesforce and / or CrowdChange an asset.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends (Terry Fox Run launch day and Run weekend).
