The Opportunity
The Faculty of Engineering, UNSW, has an opportunity for a Program Manager (Student Gender Equity). Working within the portfolio of the Deputy Dean (Societal Impact and Translation) you will take the lead on the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of the faculty’s student gender equity initiatives encompassing women, non-binary and gender diverse students. Currently, the primary activity is the Women in Engineering Program (https://www.unsw.edu.au/engineering/student-life/women-engineering).
This Program will address barriers to access, and participation experienced by women, non-binary and gender diverse students who may have aspirations to become an engineer, including considerations of intersectionality, and provides opportunities to assist their success at UNSW Engineering. This role will work in collaboration with our other Program Manager (Student Equity) who focuses on students from low socioeconomic status backgrounds, UNSW Gateway Schools and regional and remote areas, and our Senior Program Officer (Indigenous Engagement), as well as Future Student Recruitment and other areas of the Faculty of Engineering.
Overall, this role will aim to increase the number of enrolments and reduce attrition of women, non-binary and gender diverse students.
This role reports to the Deputy Dean (Societal Impact and Translation) and has no direct reports.
