CFSPD is the lead agency to the Safe Centre of Peel - a partnership of 24 social service organizations.
The Safe Centre of Peel provides co-located, integrated and coordinated services which addresses
the needs of individuals experiencing Intimate Partner Violence.

Position Summary

CFSPD is currently seeking a Program Manager who will oversee the daily operations of the Safe
Centre of Peel with a strong systems perspective. This includes maintaining the highest standards in
programming and service delivery. The Program Manager will also be responsible for leading and
facilitating the collaboration between the Safe Centre partners to effectively serve those affected by
intimate partner violence.

The Program Manager – Safe Centre reports to the Director. This position will be based in
Brampton, Ontario.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the intimate partner violence hub model of co-located, coordinated services is
    functioning to its highest capacity and serving the best interests of our community.
  2. Assist in the development of short- and long-term plans for programs, monitor progress,
    assure adherence and evaluate performance.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new partners at Safe Centre and
    explore ongoing opportunities for collaboration.
  4. Provide assessment, consultation, and analysis of the needs of clients to determine
    individual case plans and appropriate intervention/support.
  5. Proactively mitigate and assess risk and engage in risk management as needed.
  6. Supervise, train and evaluate staff, students and volunteers, and provide conflict resolution
    as necessary.
  7. Liaise with partner agency supervisors on the operations and needs of the centre.
  8. Chair the Supervisory Committee for the Safe Centre.
  9. As a member of the leadership team, participate in the development and implementation of
    agency wide policies and procedures.
  10. Manage indirect services, administrative duties, and client statistical reporting systems.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as manager; experience at a non-profit social
    services organization preferred.
  2. Master’s degree in social work, psychology, education or related field.
  3. Registration (or eligibility for registration) with a health regulated college (e.g. College of
    Registered Psychotherapists, OCSWSSW, etc.).
  4. Thorough understanding of gender-based violence, and intimate partner violence.
  5. Works from an anti-oppression framework, and a strong systems perspective.
  6. Knowledge and experience with crisis intervention techniques required.
  7. Comfort navigating complex systems and structures.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish, maintain and nurture teams, and
    productive working relationships with other community-based organizations.
  9. Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  10. Ability to work with a forward-thinking mindset in a fast-paced, and ever-changing
    environment.
  11. Strong conflict resolution skills.
  12. Demonstrated experience in report writing.
  13. Second language considered an asset.
