POSITION OVERVIEW

The Community Banking Team is a vehicle for this strategy, designing, testing and deploying transformative financing solutions through meaningful relationships with external partners to create lasting impact on underrepresented groups.

THE CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Against this background, BDC is looking for a passionate, committed individual with a development banker mindset to join the Lending Partnerships team within Community Banking. The core responsibilities will include:

  • Identify, develop and nurture new partnerships leveraging the holistic Community Banking offering in support of organizational priorities

  • Foster strong partner relationships based on trust and credibility by executing customized partner relationship plans to extend BDC’s reach to underrepresented communities, with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Deeply understand the needs of underrepresented entrepreneurs to shape customized solutions and holistic support

  • Navigate ambiguity and adapt to evolving needs of our partners aligned with our corporate priorities.

  • Leverage financial acumen and industry expertise to bring added value to partnerships

  • Assist the Director, Community Banking Partnerships in managing relationships and negotiating partnership agreements with key stakeholders

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (eg. Inclusive Entrepreneurship, Partnerships, DEI etc.,) ensuring strong alignment and visibility across the Bank to provide an excellent partner and employee experience

  • Be accountable for partnership data, tracking, measuring and analyzing KPIs to evaluate impact and identify areas for adjustment

  • Collect, analyze and report market intelligence related to partners and stakeholders across business lines

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/related field or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of eight years of experience in the financial services sector and stakeholder management

  • Passion for and experience working with underrepresented entrepreneurs, including knowledge of the barriers and opportunities they face

  • Skilled at developing deep business relationships based on trust and leveraging strategic partnerships to achieve shared goals

  • A good knowledge and understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem

  • Flexible and enjoys working in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Able to collaborate closely with colleagues and partners to better serve our clients

  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, written and verbally. Bilingualism in French and English is a strong asset.

  • In-depth knowledge of financing products and solutions

  • Location: Canada Wide (Preference for Toronto/Montreal)
