    • The Position:

      Summit Search Group has been retained by Rainbow Resource Centre on the recruitment of their newest Program Manager, Communication and Engagement. Rainbow Resource Centre is a leading organization dedicated to supporting Manitoba’s 2SLGBTQ+ communities, offering essential resources, programs, and services. The Centre provides a safe and inclusive space for individuals of all ages, promoting well-being and personal development. Their services include counselling, youth programs, workshops, and social groups. As an advocate for diversity and inclusion, Rainbow Resource Centre plays a crucial role in fostering connection, education, and empowerment for the 2SLGBTQ+ community across the region.

      The Program Manager, Communications and Engagement leads the development and execution of public-facing strategies that amplify the Centre’s mission, foster meaningful connections with 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and advance public understanding and support. This role oversees marketing, awareness campaigns, digital and traditional media, and community engagement initiatives to enhance visibility and impact. The Program Manager strengthens brand identity, expands outreach, and enhances storytelling to build lasting relationships with diverse stakeholders.

      Key Responsibilities:

      Strategic Communications & Public Engagement:

      • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that includes digital and traditional media, branding, and content creation.
      • Lead awareness campaigns that highlight the Centre’s programs, advocacy initiatives, and community impact.
      • Oversee the Centre’s digital presence, including website content, email marketing, and social media engagement.
      • Craft compelling messaging that resonates with 2SLGBTQ+ audiences and broader community supporters.
      • Work collaboratively with program leads to ensure consistent and effective storytelling across all communication channels.

      Marketing & Branding:

      • Ensure brand consistency across all platforms, materials, and public-facing initiatives.
      • Develop and implement marketing strategies for fundraising campaigns, events, and program promotions.
      • Manage relationships with design, communications, and branding vendors to enhance marketing efforts.
      • Track and analyze engagement metrics to refine communication strategies and improve outreach effectiveness.

      Community Engagement & Media Relations:

      • Strengthen connections with 2SLGBTQ+ communities through outreach efforts, partnerships, and inclusive programming.
      • Serve as the primary media contact, managing press releases, media inquiries, and public statements.
      • Support event planning teams in promoting and executing public engagement activities.
      • Represent the Centre at community events, public forums, and advocacy initiatives to raise awareness and build relationships.
      • Other related duties as assigned by, and negotiated with management

      Qualifications:

      • 3+ years experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
      • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-channel communication strategies.
      • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, content creation, and social media management.
      • Experience in community engagement, media relations, and campaign development.
      • Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives that align with organizational goals.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

      Working Conditions:

      Working hours are generally Monday – Friday from 9:30am – 5:00pm. Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate evening, weekend, and on-call hours required for programming. This is a unionized position (CUPE 2348). Rainbow Resource Centre offers health, dental, and employee assistance plan benefits.

      Salary: $27.919 – $31.441/hr ($54,000 – $61,500 annually).
