What We Do
The Program Manager for Commercial Real Estate is accountable for leading and overseeing commercial real estate initiatives for Fidelity Canada.
Though the nature of this role is expected to evolve over time to reflect the evolving needs of Fidelity Canada’s real estate strategy, it will be primarily focused through 2026 on the oversight, management, and coordination of Fidelity Canada’s Toronto real-estate conversion focused on several sites across the GTA.
This role requires a strong understanding of commercial real estate practices, solid leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with strategy objectives and delivering on key business outcomes.
What You Will Do
Project Management
Lead and manage tasks throughout the design, procurement and construction efforts ensuring that responsible teams are successfully executing against timeline and plan for all phases of the work from coordination with our Information Systems department through furniture install and associate orientation
Maintain focus on cost, scope and timelines, providing transparent and timeline reporting on project progress to project sponsor(s) and business stakeholders up to including Fidelity Canada’s Senior Executive Team, including escalation of issues as required
Proactively work to propose solutions to project challenges and resolution of issues, utilizing a formal project management approach, including agile, waterfall, or any appropriate hybrid solution
Manage vendor’s involvement when 3rd parties are engaged to provide professional services for the project execution or are being engaged to establish on-going managed or off-shore services to Fidelity Canada
Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, consultants, vendors and contractors to ensure smooth project execution
Stakeholder Management
Maintain active collaboration with business partners to understand business needs and coordinate cross-departmental communication and activities to clarify the directions, and ensure clear communication of priorities
Prepare effective portfolio communications and presentations for Fidelity Canada senior management, including SET and FCET members, Executive Sponsors, Project Sponsors, Steering Committee members, IS and Business Project Owners
Manage expectations and influence project related business decisions, leveraging their own subject matter area of expertise and relationship with business area SMEs.
Risk Management
Conduct through risk assessments to identify potential threats to project success and develop a comprehensive risk management plan
Establish contingency plans to address unforeseen events and project continuity under challenging circumstances
Ensure all projects adhere to relevant regulations and standards, while minimizing legal and compliance risks
Provide regular risk reports to stakeholders, highlighting key risks and recommended actions
Leadership
Assign project responsibilities across working team, clearly defining deliverables and performance expectations
Guide and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
Monitor execution of the assigned responsibilities to project team members, providing coaching and feedback as necessary
Expertise You Will Bring
Project Management experience with track record of corporate office Tenant Improvement delivery
Experience with cross-functional, cross-hierarchy work, including communication and relationship building
Demonstrated innovative, collaborative and proactive approach to problem solving
Strong financial mathematical skills with the ability to navigate through financials and other data
Ability to communicate clearly, persuasively and diplomatically to a wide range of audiences
Must be very detail oriented and can work well under pressure
Self-starter and fast learner with the ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively
The ability to manage multiple priorities in an ever-changing environment to meet deadlines
The position requires strong analytical, creative and organizational skills.
What We’re Looking For
Completion of University degree (Business Administration, Business Management, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or similar field)
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience
LEED AP, PMP, Agile Project Management Certification and / or CCM designation(s) preferred
