Hours of Work: 40 hours per week; (Monday through Friday; 8:30 am to 5:00 pm)
Compensation: $68,000 - $75,000 per annum depending on experience, plus generous leave, benefits and pension package
Program: Aoki-Ross House, (for Two-Spirit, Trans and Gender Diverse People) -Vancouver, Downtown Eastside

Atira Development Society builds, operates and maintains housing to meet the need for safe, appropriate and affordable housing with a focus on housing for women, women-headed leases and gender diverse individuals; and on mixed-income, mixed tenure communities.

About the Job:
Reporting to the Director, Operations Vancouver, the Program Manager at Aoki-Ross House will supervise and support the live-in building caretaker and any other staff hired to the program, as well as ensure effective service delivery consistent with Atira’s mission, vision, values and mandate, meeting all legal, contractual, budgetary, regulatory and other requirements; and develop long-range program plans that meet Atira’s goals and objectives and the goals and objectives of the Aoki-Ross House program. A key role of the manager will be to liaise with relevant supports such as Trans healthcare services, financial supports, clinical, mental health and community services in an effort to support residents. It is expected that this position works with the Two-Spirit contractor and community stakeholders to ensure that the program is culturally appropriate for all residents.

About You:
You are a friendly warm-hearted person with extensive understanding of Two-Spirit, Trans and gender diverse homelessness in the community and who has an as yet untapped passion to work with Transgender, Two-spirit and Gender-diverse people. You are flexible and open to taking on new and diverse tasks whenever needed. You have a well-developed understanding of and commitment to anti-oppression work and intersectionality. You are familiar with colonialism especially as it applies in Canada and you understand the impact of the residential school system. You are committed to working with folks who are struggling with substance use and or mental wellness and understand and are comfortable working within a harm reduction environment. Lived expertise is a significant asset, as is living in the community in which you work. Atira strives to hire staff who reflect the people we serve and applicants who are members of the Two-Spirit, Trans and Gender Diverse communities are significantly preferred for this position. Atira believes lived expertise of gender oppression is a bona fide occupational requirement for this role.

You Have/Will be Required to Have:

• Three - five years of Managing experience in the social-justice sector or related field
• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Master’s Degree in a relevant field is preferred. Relevant undergrad degree and or diploma with the equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

• NVCI Certification is required
• First Aid certification is required
• All positions are subject to a criminal records review (Submitted by Atira)
• A valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle while on shift is required
