Position Summary :

The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) is a collaboration between the Business Schools of four leading Australian universities and is the nations foremost provider of social impact education. Our purpose is to ignite positive lasting social change for people and communities through education research and engagement with the not-for-profit business philanthropic and government sectors.

The Program Manager Professional Development (PD) is responsible for leading the delivery and continuous enhancement of CSIs professional development programs. Currently the portfolio includes two world-class rated programsSocial Impact Leadership Australia (SILA) and Governance for Social Impactwith planned expansion to include The Giving Academy.

This role also oversees coordination of future programs and supports partnerships business development and growth initiatives to broaden CSIs offerings thereby strengthening knowledge and capacity across the social purpose sector.

Working closely with funders faculty delivery partners participants and CSI colleagues the Program Manager ensures a consistently outstanding learner experience while scaling the impact of CSIs educational programs. They contribute to CSIs broader growth strategy by fostering relationships enhancing program partnerships and driving business development in collaboration with the CEO Industry Director Communications Director and the wider CSI team.

Interstate travel is a key component of this role including supporting SILAs three annual retreats. In total travel for program delivery is expected approximately four to six times per year for three to five days at a time.

  • Lead the planning coordination and delivery of high-quality professional development programs ensuring alignment with the needs of social purpose professionals and leaders and meeting timelines budgets and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement sales and business development strategies in collaboration with the CEO Industry Director and Communications Director aimed at expanding CSIs PD offerings to individuals and organisations in the social purpose sector.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth by assessing market demand and scoping new PD programs. Build and maintain relationships with clients tailoring CSIs offerings to meet their needs.
  • Assess and improve program effectiveness by analysing participant feedback evaluation data and industry best practices. Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to refine course content delivery methods and teaching strategies ensuring alignment with learning outcomes and high client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless program delivery and alignment with the organisations broader strategic objectives. Liaise with the Project Officer (Executive Education) to manage administrative and logistical aspects.
  • Manage program budgets identify risks and oversee contracts to ensure effective execution and financial sustainability. Work with the Industry Director Operations and Finance Manager and UNSW Finance and Legal stakeholders to allocate resources efficiently and meet contractual obligations
  • Represent CSI at external events and forums to promote CSIs professional development offerings and enhance its reputation in the social purpose sector.

  • Proven success in leading large-scale complex programs demonstrating expertise in strategic planning risk management and stakeholder coordination.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders from senior executives to program participants. Skilled in presenting complex ideas clearly and compellingly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience in B2B sales and business development including creating and executing strategies building a robust prospect pipeline nurturing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities to drive program growth and engagement. The ideal candidate will possess experience working with or within the philanthropic sector and has established connections in the field.
  • Demonstrated experience in the social purpose or education sectors with a strong understanding of sector-specific challenges and the ability to navigate diverse stakeholder groups while aligning initiatives with broader organisational objectives.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent competence in project management or a related field combined with substantial experience gained through a combination of education training and experience.
  • Extensive experience in project management systems and tools including Microsoft Suite with the ability to design streamlined workflows and leverage data-driven insights (e.g. PowerBI Excel) to enhance program delivery and impact
