A leading staffing agency is seeking a Senior Program Manager in Markham, ON, to lead Strategic Data Transformation Programs. The position requires 15+ years of experience managing complex programs, with significant budget management skills. Job description

Senior Program Manager, Data / DW (Contract Position)

Number of Positions: 1 | Duration: 6 months

Location: Markham, ON, CA

Must be eligible to work in Canada

Position Details: Hybrid work arrangement with 3 days per week onsite in Markham; may transition to fully onsite in the future.

Additional Requirements: Willingness and ability to work extended hours as needed to support project needs.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Stakeholder Management: Lead large programs and manage executive expectations.
  2. Program & Project Planning: Develop integrated plans covering scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead project teams, including internal and external partners, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  4. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members to enhance collaboration.
  6. Communication: Maintain clear communication channels, providing regular updates and reports.
  7. Scope Management: Work with the business to baseline and monitor project scope, managing change requests.
  8. Financial Management: Manage budgets, expenditures, and adjust plans to stay within budget.
  9. Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and best practices.
  10. Governance: Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  11. Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Resolve project issues to keep initiatives on track.
Must Have Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
  1. Experience leading large-scale Strategic Data Transformation Programs.
  2. Background in Insurance and Financial sectors.
  3. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  4. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  5. At least 15 years of experience managing complex programs with budgets over $10 million.
  6. Experience managing Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Visualization projects, including at least one project in the Government sector.
  7. Ability to manage scope, dependencies, risks, and issues proactively.
  8. Strong client engagement skills, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  9. Experience liaising with Data Architecture teams to ensure compliance with data principles.
