Job description

Reaching for Rainbows in Prince Edward County is a volunteer-led program that provides a safe and supportive after-school environment for girls aged 6 to 9. Through mentorship, creative activities, and skill-building, it helps young girls develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.

Reaching for Rainbows is looking for a Part-Time, Contract, Program Manager to join their team.

The focus of the Program Manager role is to lead the day-to-day operations of the Playroom after school program while providing the participants with a sense of belonging, building their social/emotional skills, and accommodating their intellectual and physical abilities. The Program Manager will work under the direction of the Executive Director, who has an ultimate responsibility to the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

Program & Playroom

Plan and deliver monthly programming and menus.

Support volunteers and parent engagement.

Administration

Manage intake, participant files, and goal tracking.

Prepare program plans and attend team meetings.

Monitor spending and support evaluations.

Professional Conduct

Promote integrity and confidentiality.

Handle sensitive matters professionally.

Human Resources

Supervise and support volunteers and staff.

Lead recruitment, training, and scheduling.

External Relations

Liaise with schools and partner agencies.

Support outreach, events, and grant reporting.

Maintain regular communication with families and partners.

A diploma/degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Work, Social Service Work, Personal/Developmental Support Worker or other related human services fields of work

  • 2 years minimum Managerial/Supervisory experience
  • 3-5 years experience working with children/youth
  • Will accept a combination of qualifications and experience
  • Collaborative team player
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, One Drive, Outlook) Canva and various online platforms like Zoom and Google Drive
