Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Senior Program Manager to join our team. You will lead an integrated team of client and consultant staff, ensuring project alignment with mission and objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing stakeholder deliverables, contract administration, change orders, procurement, project finances, and schedules, all while maintaining quality, budget, governance, and safety standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with program execution, addressing strategy and delivery challenges, and support internal departments as needed. Oversee implementation of delivery procedures and evaluate team performance against objectives.
• Manage all services provided by the team, including program and project management, design support, technical studies, procurement, construction management, operations, community outreach, and funding strategies.
• Provide daily guidance to multidisciplinary teams within a co-located Program Management Office (PMO), typically at a client site.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the client and participate as part of the integrated leadership team.
• Help establish and implement governance structures to ensure rigorous project and program management adherence.
• Identify client needs and develop initiatives to mitigate delivery risks.
• Support staff development through best practices, training, and knowledge transfer.
• Develop and manage consultant service agreements for program management.
• Oversee reporting for clients and internal teams.
• Review technical and contractual submittals from contractors and consultants.
• Provide support related to client governance and departmental interactions.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Extensive project management skills, with experience in managing complex public and private projects from pursuit to closeout.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying needs and developing proposals.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Background check required due to work with critical infrastructure.
• Deep technical understanding of large infrastructure projects and processes.
• Leadership experience in team and project strategy, change management, and corporate stewardship.
• Knowledge of construction methods, contracts, codes, and safety regulations.
• Experience in sales support for new opportunities is a plus.
• Problem-solving skills within a team environment, analyzing technical issues, and delivering value-driven solutions.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and client offices as needed.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 20 years’ relevant experience in project management for large engineering, design, and construction projects.
• At least 10 years leading multidisciplinary teams in utility infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences; master’s degree preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
