Job summary

Umbrella Family is seeking a RECE Program Leader to manage a Balaclava Centre site in Freelton, ON. This permanent, full-time role focuses on creating safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate programs for JK/SK and school-age children.

You will lead a committed team, coordinate before/after school activities, handle administrative duties, and communicate with families and supervisors to support positive learning experiences.

Qualifications

• ECE Diploma and current registration in good standing with the College of ECEs.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered ECE.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills to guide a team and engage families.
• Solid understanding of child development and positive behaviour guidance.
• Ability to support children requiring self-regulation and adapt to various duties.

Responsibilities

• Welcome children and families and maintain accurate sign-in/sign-out records.
• Support children’s emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
• Prepare and offer healthy snacks following safe food practices.
• Engage children in meaningful indoor and outdoor activities aligned with How Does Learning Happen?
• Lead program planning with invitations to play and developmentally appropriate materials.
• Safely pick up and transition JK/SK groups from classrooms.
• Facilitate outdoor play and manage equipment as needed.
• Communicate professionally with families, colleagues, and school partners.
• Perform site administrative tasks: weekly attendance, enrollment updates, monthly subsidy reporting, time sheets, and grocery orders.
