Description

The Village at St Clair in Windsor, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Full-Time Program for Active Living (PAL) Coordinator to join their Retirement team. This position is a temporary contract for approximately 1 year.

Responsibilities:
  • Have a Degree in Kinesiology focusing on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation.
  • Design and implement innovative cognitive and physical exercise programs for residents, both individually and in groups.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to meet resident goals.
  • Complete resident transfer assessments.
  • Work with external partners to provide excellent service.
  • Lead and supervise Kinesiology Co-Op students, volunteers, and interns assisting with the PAL program.
  • Facilitate educational sessions on lift & transfer, body mechanics, and active living.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude towards residents, families, and team members.
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role.
Assets:
  • Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience or interest in providing educational sessions/seminars.
  • Experience working with seniors and/or persons with cognitive or physical impairments.
  • Experience in the retirement and long-term care sector.
